The Impressionists Tour

The Impressionists Tour - Day 1 : Monet Museums and Giverny

We will begin the Impressionist Tour with the visit of the Orangerie Museum

Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings found an ideal space: the old greenhouse of the Tuileries Garden, where the Orangerie Museum presents an impressive collection of works by Monet and some (very well) chosen pieces of painters of the 18th and 19th centuries.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Claude Monet chose the Museum of l’Orangerie in Paris for the exhibition of his paintings “The Nymphs”.

You will be able to appreciate several canvases of Paul Cézanne, like Le Déjeuner sur L’Herbe, those of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, among them Les Jeunes filles au piano.

Next, we will visit the house and garden by Claude Monet in Giverny

Passionate for both gardening and painting, Monet created his flower garden and water garden in Giverny as true works of art. You will discover the life and work of Claude Monet.

The Impressionists Tour - Day 2 : Le Havre and Etretat Cliffs

We will visit the Musée d’art moderne André Malraux in Le Havre

City that saw born or grow artists like Monet, Dubuffet, Friesz, Dufy and Braqueque.

The MuMa was inaugurated in 1961 by André Malraux, and is known for its late 19th and 20th century collection (Impressionist and Fauvist works).

The museum has one of the largest collections of Impressionist works in France and allows you to present today the largest number of works by Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, Degas and Courbet and Corot.

Then we will have a view of the Seine Bay and will visit Etretat

This is a perfect place of inspiration for artists such as Courbet, Monet and Boudin, with its simple and fragile nature, the verticality of its cliffs and its beaches transport the visitor to a universe of dreams.

The Impressionists Tour - Day 3 : Honfleur and Rouen

We will dedicate the morning of the third day to visit the port city of Honfleur

Honfleur is famous for its port, Le Vieux Bassin, and for its picturesque houses with slate roof. His romantic panorama was often immortalized by painters, including Corot, Turner, but also the Honfleur School, which contributed to the emergence of the Impressionist movement: Courbet, Boudin, Monet.

We will visit the Eugene Boudin Museum, which has a large collection of pre-impressionist and contemporary paintings by Norman artists who lived in Honfleur: Courbet, Boudin, Dubourg, Jongkind, Monet, Dufy, Friesz, Gernez, Hamburg, Herbo …

Continuing the tour, we will visit the city of Rouen

We will visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen, which houses one of the most prestigious public collections in France, and gathers paintings, sculptures, drawings and objects of art from the 15th century to the present day.

We will also visit the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Rouen, immortalized by Monet in several of his works.

The Impressionists Tour - Day 4 : Deauville and Orsay museum in Paris

Continuing the tour, we will continue to the other Normandy city named Deauville and Trouville

Deauville is internationally renowned for its palaces, casinos and large towns, some of which are from Belle Époque.

It was there that Coco Chanel opened its first store in 1913 at the Normandy hotel, imposing a revolutionary style for that time. Trouville, one of the most beautiful resorts in Côte Fleurie in the 19th century, saw Eugene Boudin and Claude Monet pass by.

Then we will return to Paris to visit the last museum of the tour: the Orsay Museum

Renowned for possessing the largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world, its collections bring together the most diverse forms of expression, from painting (more than 5000 works) to architecture, sculpture, decorative arts and photography.
Among the paintings displayed in the renovated and modernized galleries are hundreds of masterpieces. Renoir’s painting “Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette” is found together with Cézanne’s “Les Joueurs de Cartes”, “Le Bassin aux Nymphéas” by Monet, “L’Origine du monde” (The Origin of the World) by Courbet, “La nuit étoilée” (The Starry Night) by Van Gogh, or “Olympia” by Manet.
